Книга: Numerical algorithms of classical mathematical physics
In 1973 I graduated from the Faculty of Mechanics and Mathematics of M. V. Lomonosov Moscow State University and started to work at the 12th Division of the Institute of Applied Mathematics of the USSR Academy of Sciences; later, I moved to the 4th Division headed by Konstantin Ivanovich Babenko.
Konstantin Ivanovich suggested that I work on novel algorithms (non-saturating numerical algorithms) for the classical problems of mathematical physics. First, we considered one-dimensional problems (Sturm-Liouville problem, Bessel equation and others), after which we focused on the eigenvalue problem for the Laplace equation.
